In this role, you will manage a sophisticated, and often high-conflict, caseload with a focus on motions practice and discovery. Candidates must be prepared to appear for in-person court hearings across Thurston, King, Snohomish, Kitsap, and Pierce Counties. Success requires initiative, sound judgment, ethical billing practices, and the ability to work autonomously while consistently upholding the firm’s standards of excellence.

Key Qualifications:

5+ years of litigation experience

Licensed to practice in Washington State and physically located in Western WA

2+ years of family law litigation experience

Demonstrated proficiency in all phases of litigation, from intake through resolution

Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school

Active WSBA member in good standing with no disciplinary history

Core Responsibilities:

Represent clients in court hearings and trials

Conduct client consultations and provide strategic legal guidance

Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, and Washington-specific family law forms

Conduct and respond to discovery (interrogatories, subpoenas, document production, etc.)

Prepare trial materials, including witness and exhibit lists, trial briefs, and joint statements

Maintain organized case files, deadlines, and court calendars

Communicate regularly with clients and the legal team

Utilize legal practice management tools (e.g., PracticePanther or similar)

Technical Skills:

Strong working knowledge of Washington State court rules and procedures, including e-filing and e-service in King, Pierce, Kitsap, Thurston, and Snohomish Counties

Proficiency in G-Suite, Microsoft Office, and Adobe

Ability to quickly learn and navigate new software platforms

Compensation & Benefits:

Contractor position with a split of hourly billings (percentage to be determined based on experience)

After a successful 90-day performance review, the role may convert to a salaried attorney position

Health insurance eligibility upon conversion to salary

401(k) with company match (subject to employment classification requirements)

Two weeks paid time off (PTO), plus court and federal holidays, upon conversion to salary

Firm-paid bar dues and up to 15 CLE credits per year
