Summary of Position:The Firmware Test Engineer is responsible for testing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The Test Engineer will be responsible for testing in both a lab and production environments.

Essential Functions:

Manual hardware testing (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE, GPS, Temperature, etc.)
API testing using Postman, REST API
Testing on a variety of OS (Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android, iOS)
Design, develop, and create test documentation for computer systems or programs based off business, client, and functional requirements
Efficiently manage time, prioritize work, and multi-task across several project assignments
Communicate and interact professionally with all levels of staff and management to coordinate project deliverables, deliver status reports, and facilitate meetings
Troubleshoot technical systems or software issues experienced during testing and exercise independent judgment and discretion to determine strong solutions
Create, analyze, manage, and triage system or software defects
Ability to execute manual and automated test cases
Ability to update automation scripts in Python
Proficient use of Qtest, JIRA, Zepher, Rally, and/or Quality Center for test case management, creation, execution, and bug tracking
Ensure reporting and testing meets established client processes and procedures
Demonstrated experience with firmware testing

Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine, and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
3+ years of test and/or SDET experience

Qualifications:

Familiarity of manual hardware testing (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE, GPS, Temperature, etc.)
3+ years of proven experience working independently with little or no directions
3+ years of QA experience.
Strong attention to detail, multi-tasker, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Exceptional reading comprehension skills
2+ years of experience in the review and comprehension of BRDs (Business Requirement Documents) and FRSs (Functional Requirement Specifications)
2+ year experience in the design and development test plans and test cases.
Familiarity with testing on a variety of OS (Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android, iOS)
3+ years of Advance Troubleshooting (live tracing and bug triaging. Being able to troubleshoot and communicating issues with bugs in real time will be needed)
Experience API testing

Familiarity of using Postman

Familiarity of REST API requests and responses

Familiarity of Elastic search (good to have but not required)

Experience Firmware testing
Coding skills in C/C/C#, Python or Java
Well-motivated for overall system testing with strong analytic skills for diagnostics and root cause identification
