Shipyard LaborerLocation Everett, WashingtonPay 22-25Job DescriptionJoin our team as a Shipyard Laborer, where you'll perform a variety of mechanical duties and ensure safety during hot work activities. This role combines the responsibilities of a Trades Helper and Firewatch, including:
Establishing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program for marine engines and related equipment.
Operating hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment repair.
Assisting in the fabrication of equipment.
Monitoring areas where hot work is in progress to prevent fire hazards.
Ensuring flammable materials are kept away from ignition sources.
Extinguishing fires immediately or activating fire alarms if necessary.
Following safety permit conditions and requirements.
Preferred Skills
General knowledge of shipboard equipment operation, disassembly/assembly, testing, and record keeping.
General machinist knowledge, including the use of required measuring instruments, necessary hand and power tools.
Ability to read and understand engineering prints, technical manuals, and diagrams.
Additional Info
PPE required: hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots.
No medical monitoring or screening required.
No certifications required.
