We are part of CommonSpirit Health which operates 139 hospitals and more than 1,000 care sites across 21 states, making our services accessible to nearly 1 in 4 U.S. residents.ResponsibilitiesThis position is skilled at obtaining blood specimens and performs pre-analytical processing of patient samples based on established laboratory procedures. In addition, this position communicates pertinent laboratory information to healthcare providers including test ordering instructions, patient test results, or established laboratory practices.“We deliver inspired people to do meaningful work.”QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.WA State Department of Health Medical Assistant - Phlebotomy certification is required.May also require certification of training in Infectious Substance shipping outlined by the Dangerous Goods Regulations.Also required are excellent customer service and patient relations skills; knowledge of anatomy, venous systems, proper specimen collection techniques and use of blood tubes; knowledge of safety guidelines and basic medical and laboratory terminology.General computer knowledge is needed.Just as Virginia Mason is dedicated to improving the lives of our patients and our community, we are equally dedicated to your professional and personal success.
