DescriptionWe are seeking a stellar External Affairs manager to join the Global Service Compliance (GSC) team supporting Amazon’s Project Kuiper. Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.Export Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Key job responsibilitiesWorking closely with the business, legal, and other teams, you will develop out-of-this-world strategies for handling compliance obligations in creative, business-centric ways that allow Kuiper to move quickly. As the manager of External Affairs for Kuiper GSC, you will offer oversight and strategic guidance for teams responsible for executing on Kuiper’s global ISP obligations.You are an industry influencer with a demonstrated history of building relevant programs and will foster deep subject matter expertise in communications regulations for your teams. You will create the correct sense of urgency to optimize mechanisms necessary to meet global ISP compliance obligations. You will maintain an up-to-date and wholistic view of Kuiper’s ISP compliance obligations, the Kuiper business, and the relevant regulatory regimes in terms of execution of compliance activities and immediate problem solving but also scaling solutions broadly to drive operational excellence.About the teamSome travel, domestic and international, may be required.Basic Qualifications

5+ years’ experience managing team(s) executing legal and/or regulatory requirements

5+ years’ experience interfacing with regulators and their administrators

5+ years’ experience of accountability for team KPIs

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in operationalizing or assessing regulatory compliance obligations

Familiarity with the global telecommunications regulatory landscape

Regulatory audit experience

Addresses issues head-on prioritizing urgent and important matters

Strong written and oral communication skills

The base pay for this position ranges from $119,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $198,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
