Mechanical Codes and Methods Engineer Our Client is seeking to contract with a highly capable and motivated Mechanical Codes and Methods Engineer. This is a dedicated position focused on the qualification and commercial grade dedication of finite element analysis software. The Mechanical Codes and Methods Engineer will report to the Structural Analysis Manager and will join the Mechanical Design Discipline. The Mechanical Codes and Methods Engineer will work as part of a high functioning team of engineers and scientists focused on developing the design of next generation advanced nuclear reactors. Responsibilities: Perform commercial grade dedication of finite element analysis software (Abaqus) in accordance with NQA-1 requirements

Work with Mechanical Codes and Methods Team to determine commercial grade dedication requirements and develop verification test strategies

Establish and maintain commercial grade dedication report for finite element analysis software (Abaqus)

Key Qualifications:

B.S, M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from accredited university. Aerospace and Civil Engineering degrees are also considered.

Minimum of 10+ years of related experience with a B.S. degree, or 7+ years with an M.S. or 5+ with a Ph.D. degree.

Proficiency in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods and commercial mechanical stress analysis modeling tools

Expert level of proficiency with Abaqus, including Standard and Implicit Solvers and a high degree of familiarity with Abaqus documentation

The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

The ideal candidate:

Experience in Verification and Validation of Software to the requirements of NQA-1

Proficient in software development using Python

Previous experience in the nuclear industry
