Description We are in search of a Medical Cash Posting Specialist for a client based in Kirkland, Washington. This role is mainly focused on managing revenue-related accounts receivable (AR) tasks and ensuring the accuracy of medical billing procedures. It is a long-term contract opportunity that will require a thorough understanding of AR, cash posting, and medical billing within the healthcare industry. This is an onsite position and is estimated to go for 6 months. Responsibilities: Ensure the accurate and timely posting of revenue-related A/R payments and/or denials from insurance companies to patient accounts in the billing software. Carry out a thorough review of all remittance advice for accuracy, identifying any errors or questionable data. Investigate and resolve unapplied/unidentified cash receipts. Reconcile payments and shortages for both paper and electronic Explanation of Benefits (EOBs). Balance each posting batch to ensure accuracy. Research, track, and trend payment discrepancies, communicating any trends or items requiring attention. Investigate deposit status and posting errors, implementing solutions as necessary. Provide support with monthly close functions. Uphold Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA compliance guidelines in relation to billing, collections, and Protected Health Information (PHI). Participate in educational activities and attend weekly staff meetings, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of industry practices and regulations. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.Requirements Demonstrable experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) Proficiency in Cash Posting Solid understanding of Medical Billing procedures Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficient in using medical software and Microsoft Office Suite Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines Commitment to providing excellent customer service Willingness to keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments High school diploma or equivalent; further education in medical administration or a related field will be a plus.
