Performs all responsibilities of the Patient Flow Coordinator.

Maintains an ongoing, high level of surveillance of patients’ homodynamic status and cardiac rhythms from the monitor screens.

Immediately notifies the RN of any changes in patient’s cardiac rhythm and/or vital signs.

Activates emergency response based on patient's condition

Answers phones and routes phone calls to appropriate staff.

Greets and directs customers/visitors inquiring at the nurse’s station desk.

Assists in discharge process as directed by the nurse.

QualificationsRequired:

High school diploma, or GED.

Strong problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.

Ability to work independently, and respond appropriately in stressful situations.

Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication, skills.

Proficiency in using personal computer. Ability to assertively advocate for patient safety, by communicating the urgency of patient hemodynamic instability through monitoring of vital signs and rhythm changes from the monitor screens.

Must pass an EKG validation test within 6 weeks of hire and annually thereafter to ensure competency.
