Additionally, after working at Canlis for at least 6 months, all employees receive a dinner for two (not including any alcohol ordered) continuing education credit each calendar year to dine at the restaurant. The dinner for two credit may not be carried over into the subsequent calendar year. Both the discount and the credit cannot be used on Friday/Saturday or during the month of December.Canlis provides universal paid time off (PTO) to all employees, for use as paid vacation leave, sick leave, or safe leave. The Canlis PTO Policy is below:Years worked at Canlis: 0-3 / Accrual Rate: 1.08 / PTO Days: 7Years worked at Canlis: 4-5 / Accrual Rate: 1.54 / PTO Days: 10Years worked at Canlis: 6-10 / Accrual Rate: 1.85 / PTO Days: 12Years worked at Canlis: 11+ / Accrual Rate: 2.31 / PTO Days: 15Accrual is PTO hours per 40 hours worked Tips: Canlis charges an automatic 20% service charge that is retained 100% by the restaurant. Guests are not required to tip on top of that, but often do. Employees are responsible for accurately reporting all of their tips. As one of the oldest tip pools in America, Canlis has a rich history and tradition in respect to the sharing of tips among tipped employees. Tips are dispersed amongst the hourly staff (except for valets, whose tips are handled separately) both kitchen and dining room.
