Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Spokane Valley, Washington, United States. As a Payroll Specialist, your primary role will be to manage and process certified payrolls for our clients across multiple states while ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate payroll records, conducting internal audits, and liaising with clients and government agencies.Responsibilities: Manage and process certified payroll for clients across Washington, Idaho, and Montana, adhering to all local, state, and federal requirements. Ensure accurate calculation of wages in accordance with Davis-Bacon rates and applicable wage determinations for employees working on federally funded or assisted projects. Maintain comprehensive and precise records of certified payroll submissions and related documents which include timesheets, pay stubs, and fringe benefit reports. Conduct compliance audits to ascertain that certified payroll reports are in full compliance with Davis-Bacon and related Acts, and rectify discrepancies when needed. Submit certified payroll reports to federal, state, and local agencies as required. Act as the primary liaison for clients and government agencies regarding certified payroll inquiries and audit requests. Stay abreast of changes to Davis-Bacon wage rates and labor laws in Washington, Idaho, and Montana, ensuring all payroll practices are current.
