Description Job Description:We are currently in need of a Payroll Tax Accountant with a solid understanding of the construction industry to join our team. As a Payroll Tax Accountant, you will take charge of all matters regarding payroll taxes. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely submission of payroll taxes, complying with relevant regulations, and handling payroll tax procedures.Responsibilities:

Prepare and process payroll tax payments at a local, state, and federal level.

Stay informed about the latest payroll tax laws and regulations, especially as it pertains to the construction industry.

Oversee end-of-year reporting tasks as necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.).

Initiate, review, and manage payroll processing systems to facilitate the efficient processing of payroll transactions. These transactions include salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other reductions.

Assemble relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.

Liaise with other accounting staff and departments to verify the accuracy of payroll data.

Identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll tax filings.

Respond to questions from employees regarding payroll and tax-related concerns promptly and professionally.

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in payroll tax accounting, ideally within the construction industry.

Comprehensive knowledge of payroll tax systems, databases, and procedures.

Understanding of state, local, and federal government regulations and ability to interpret and comply with them.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under structured deadlines.

Proficient in the use of payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
