Job Description

The Plant Manager leads creating and reinforcing a Zero-Harm and Zero-Defect culture. This position will lead and manage ongoing operations and administration of the plant site including production. Through employee engagement and Manufacturing Excellence principles, the Manager focuses on performance improvement, cost reduction, product delivery and customer service. The Plant Manager will also manage working capital through inventory control policy and ensure assets are maintained with sound engineering principles as well as all safety, environmental, and employee relations and development programs. This position will also foster a culture of inclusiveness and innovation in the workplace.

The Plant Manager is an active member of the leadership team responsible for setting overall direction and policy for Steelscape. They will be developing and executing strategic plans aligned with the overall CPNA business goals. This role requires significant influence, buy-in, and coordination from department leaders within Steelscape and through CPNA such as manufacturing excellence, maintenance, quality, supply chain, IT&IS, and Finance.

  • Using Felt Leadership, implement and ensure high performance of safety metrics.
  • Develop and administer budget while improving conversion cost and reducing variances.
  • Plan and manage facility budgets. Ensure CAPEX and cost savings projects are completed on time, within budget and with recognized savings being realized.
  • Communicate the company’s vision and values.
  • Lead the facility management team to achieve budgets and KPI’s to optimize performance and drive results.
  • Facilitate quality and service improvements as well as cost reduction through good manufacturing practices
  • Coordination of other functional groups and manufacturing management from other sites to ensure best practices are shared, implemented, and followed.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Manufacturing Engineering (or related engineering field)
  • 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 years of experience in a people management role

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of company products
  • 15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Master's Degree in Business or Manufacturing Engineering (or related engineering field)
  • Experience with plant start-up's and equipment layout
