In ASBX, we're working on meaningful projects at incredible scale. You'll develop products that enable builders to develop and operate robust, high-quality software and safely, securely, and reliably deploy it to customers worldwide. You'll work on products and solutions such as automated build, test, and deployment systems, source control services, cloud developer environments, and systems to manage software security, to name a few. You'll be at the hub of ongoing builder education and knowledge discovery, and fuel a company-wide culture that makes Amazon a place where all builders feel they belong, can grow, and can build amazing things.

Internal job description You probably saw in the email that went out to , Eric Docktor is putting together a brand new org together called Software Builder Experience(SBX). It will be singularly focused on improving the experience for software builders across Amazon!This is a huge opportunity to start something from ground up. It's day 1 at SBX with large ambiguous problems to solve. We're rethinking how operations run within Amazon from ticketing to operator tooling to data analytics and more!Our team is looking for highly skilled software builders, who ask lots of questions, challenge the status quo(why do we need oncall really?) and love solving hard problems.So, if you like doing work with a clear impact for our builders, you'll enjoy being a part of the team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (related field) or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of five years software development experience in a combination of any of the following languages: C, Java, C#, Python or Ruby
  • Minimum of five years experience developing systems that run on Linux

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix tools and architecture
  • Breadth of experience covering the "stack" of front-end web user interfaces and web servers through to back-end analysis and storage systems.
  • Highly proficient in design and analysis of algorithms and data structures
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design and implementation experience
  • Master's degree in Computer Science
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
