Description We are looking for a skilled Project Accountant to join our team in the construction industry, based in Tacoma, Washington. As a Project Accountant, your main focus will be to manage project-related accounts in an accurate and timely manner, along with handling payroll duties and customer billing.Responsibilities Manage and reconcile individual timecards to project daily timesheets on a weekly basis. Carefully review all invoices for the appropriate documentation and match them with purchase orders or delivery receipts. Ensure invoices are organized and coded accurately. Identify and apply Use Tax and Sales Tax Credits relevant to the construction industry. Enter data of scanned invoices routed for approval using accounting software systems. Handle credit card accounts payable and perform reconciliation tasks. Process accounts payable checks, match invoices to checks, obtain signatures, and distribute checks as required. Maintain the vendor database for Accounts Payable and respond to vendor inquiries in a polite and professional manner. Reconcile vendor statements monthly and collect W-9 and maintain appropriate documentation for 1099 reporting. Administer subcontracts, including change orders, lien releases, sub-tier lien releases, certificates of insurance, and retention payable. Prepare monthly customer job billings in collaboration with the Project Manager. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices. Assist with various projects as assigned by the Controller. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services Familiarity with Costpoint Competence in Deltek and Deltek Vision Ability to work with About Time software Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Prior experience in Auditing Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
