Job Summary/Company:

A Sparks Group Partner is seeking a

Project Engineer who is ready to dive in and learn what it takes to accomplish big upgrade projects. The Engineer will be responsible for translating project designs into specific work tasks to be performed by various teams. If you're looking for established processes and procedures, this will not be a good fit for you. Rather, you will be a part of establishing new processes and procedures, a part of the decision-making in this role. This Direct Hire position is 100% remote. However, they prefer that you live in one of their established markets: Seattle, Cupertino, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Houston, and Denver.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage data and complete research to accurately develop a schedule-ready project plan
  • Use multiple communication tools (e.g., Chat, IM, Teams, Zoom, Slack, etc.)
  • Translate working knowledge of field processes and technologies into executable and repeatable plans
  • Manage and prioritize daily activities with a sense of urgency
  • Assist in tracking and investigating tasks that are off track as well as verifying accuracy

Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • 2 years of experience on CATV outside plant (network maintenance, splicing, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and Project Management software
  • Familiar with reading circuit or network power diagrams
  • Experience coordinating field activities for construction projects
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organizational skills with project details and timelines
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and taking initiative
  • Travel: under 20% of travel annually for assistance in setting up new markets, company meetings, etc. (For all travel they will pay for lodging, flight, mileage reimbursement, etc. as appropriate. Because this is a remote position, a company vehicle will not be provided, however, if during travel there is a need, a rental car or transportation would be arranged.)
