Are you ready to help us make the future? This position is responsible for designing and building required tooling, fixturing or new products for the Targets R&D teams. The position requires knowledge of materials, mathematics, drawing software, problem solving, CNC or manual machining equipment operation, CNC programming and advanced fabrication techniques. The position will work closely with production for prototype part development and product flow. Key Responsibilities · Create CAD or solid model drawings of prototype fixtures, jaws, chucks, components or sputtering targets from existing parts, dimensional requirements and/or OEM drawings. · Convert CAD or solid model drawings to MasterCAM or G-code programs for the operation of CNCM/L or manual lathes, milling or wire EDM systems. · Create required Honeywell drawings, SIR’s, setup sheets, roughing and finishing prints for producing prototype production parts. · Create and release Honeywell drawings in eMatrix systems through the ECO process. · Specify and order tools and materials required for the product or design. · Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, wire EDM or other metal cutting machine or tools to produce plastic and/or metal parts. · Collect and record experimental data and other information related to projects and/or products. · Communicate results to requester in timely manner. · Evaluate and recommend sources of raw materials and equipment. Obtain quotes and order supplies as required. · Work with Advanced Development team and Process Integration team in the development/brainstorming of new parts or processes. · Assist in the transfer of new processes and new products to Operations, Marketing and other HEM sites as required. · Develop standard work procedures as required in the transfer to production. § Work with Advanced Development team, Process Integration team, Process Engineering, Global Manufacturing, Quality and Production Departments to transfer new technologies into production in a timely fashion. § Provide regular updates on project status through accepted communication modes. Examples include the NPD system, MS Project, Sharepoint, e-mail, meetings & presentations. § Support the Advanced Development and Process Integration teams as required on customer issues related to Return Material Authorizations (RMA's) and Technical Assistance Requests (TAR's). § Execute programs according to Design Control procedures and contribute to HEM's Continuous Improvement Programs YOU MUST HAVE · Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience within a R&D setting. Preference will be given to individuals with working knowledge of G-Code programming, Mii, SAP, eMatrix, Solid Works software, CAD/MasterCAM, understanding of manufacturing and transfer to manufacturing WE VALUE · Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 15 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a R&D setting. Candidates with a good working knowledge of of G-Code programming, Mii, SAP, eMatrix, Solid Works software, CAD/MasterCAM, understanding of manufacturing and transfer to manufacturing is preferred.
