The overall annual operations funding from all sources is over $130 million.The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences within the UW School of Medicine currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Research Study Supervisor. The Trauma Recovery & Resilience Innovations (TRI) group is seeking a Research Study Supervisor for a full-time, one-year position in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (https://psychiatry.uw.edu/) at the University of Washington. Renewal of the position beyond 1 year is possible depending on qualifications, performance, and project needs.This position involves assisting Dr. Emily Dworkin with the management of her lab within TRI. Her lab is conducting multiple federally-funded studies focused on trauma recovery, including a clinical trial of an app-based intervention for survivors of recent sexual assault and a longitudinal study examining the impact of anti-LGBTQ+ stigma on recovery from sexual assault among sexual minority women. The primary focus of this position will be to conduct administrative tasks in support of these studies and their staff rather than directly carrying out research procedures.Responsibilities Staff Management Hire new staff (e.g., conduct outreach/recruitment, conduct interviews, carry out reference checks).
Train and orient new staff.
Offboard staff.
Plan and organize activities of staff engaged in carrying out research studies through delegation of tasks and monitoring tasks to completion.
Track and report on attendance and performance of undergraduate research assistants.
Conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary actions for assigned personnel.
Monitor and respond to team member needs.
Manage and monitor staff schedules and leave requests.
Plan and carry out team social activities.
Arrange and conduct team trainings.
Coordinate and troubleshoot shared workspace availability.Coordination of policies and procedures Prepare policies and procedures for study operations.
Develop lab procedures and training manuals.
Develop expertise in key lab systems (e.g., task management platform, survey and participant management systems, developer ticket system), provide as-needed training and consultation to team members on these systems, create and improve documentation and training materials for using these systems.Communication Ensure lab updates are promptly communicated to staff.
Assist the PI in responding to emails.
Manage communication between lab personnel and collaborators.
Organize, schedule, attend, and take notes in staff meetings, lab meetings, and other meetings as needed.Financial Submit purchasing and reimbursement requests.
Monitor expenditures and administer grant budgets.Compliance Maintain compliance with study protocol and institution policies and procedures; take action to correct problems such as deviation from protocol.
Monitor and ensure staff and study compliance with funder and institutional requirements.
Track study progress; ensure that established targets for identifying and recruiting participants are met.
Plan and carry out lab data security audits.
Write or review human subjects applications and consent forms in compliance with applicable regulations.
Compose annual reports to funder.Data Management Manage study datasets and documentation.
Verify accuracy of research data.Advisory Board Coordination Coordinate study advisory board meeting recruitment, scheduling, updates, and payments.
