Harnessing technology and rebuilding software expertise, the team inspires simplicity with projects that deliver revenue and cost savings opportunities.About the JobAs a Software Engineer, you’ll help deliver great products and services that will delight our customers. You will be part of a team that’s responsible for ensuring all services within an area of focus are deployable and well-maintained. You’ll be excited to take the reins to improve system reliability, performance, and availability. You are passionate about improving the ease of deployment, creating faster turn-around on features and fixes and you are always curious to find new ways to develop and deploy our services.Key Responsibilities:· Regular maintenance of Java-based Microservices, including maintenance, optimizations, and feature improvements· Improve CI/CD of existing services to improve ease and speed at which changes can be made· Identify architecture optimizations that improve cost and/or reliability· Execute improvements collaboratively with service owners· Participate as an individual contributor in an agile team· Mentor teammates in software craftsmanship· Troubleshoot complex system issues and work with other engineering teams to resolve them.· Participate in postmortems for many services and use the insights to identify and implement improvements.Qualifications:· 5+ years of software development experience· Strong experience with CI/CD tooling, and improving the usability of CI/CD pipelines· Proven track record of quickly jumping into existing codebases and getting operational knowledge· Track record of maintaining and operating services in production· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex system issues· Track record maintaining and modernizing Maven-based builds· Experience running SpringBoot-based services in production· Java and JVM ecosystem knowledge· 3+ years of operating in one or more cloud infrastructures (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leadersAdditional Technical Experience· SQL and NoSQL Datastores (Mongo, Postgres, Redis)· Kafka· Observability Experience and Practices, preferred ELK Stack· Prometheus for Monitoring· Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes (CI/CD)· Migration of Services from On-Prem to Public CloudOur Senior Product Development Engineers earn between $143,800-$215,800.
