Drive cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and to manage complex business needs.

Leads project / program management to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts that require hands-on coordination across multiple disciplines and business organizations.

Leads strategic innovation and experimentation.

Capacity Delivery / Network Refresh – Implement planning and scheduling programs to meet Microsoft customer needs.

Drive business results through key performance indicators and business goals, promoting clarity and motivation to the project team to execute on time, under budget, while delivering high quality results with zero rework.

Influence design standards for network execution programs throughout our datacenter portfolio.

Partner with finance and supply chain organizations to ensure accurate capital spending.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each project meets its objectives and is delivered on time.

Develop and implement project management processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Provide regular project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.

Planning & Scheduling

Develop and oversee the implementation of detailed project plans, including timelines, and resource requirements, for large-scale datacenter construction projects.

Manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, procurement, and construction to ensure project milestones are met and deliverables are completed on time.

Monitor project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.

Work with clients to understand their needs and ensure project outcomes meet their expectations.

Seek ways to streamline, automate and simplify processes. This will include deployment of tools, proficiency in data analytics, and ability to streamline processes to better meet business needs.

Determines and leads process improvements to quickly scope insights; and drives change management initiatives.

Analysis of Demand Signals

Guides teams to identify opportunities and gaps in the implementation of feature(s)/feature areas (e.g., product, service) including comparison of various quality and performance metrics to various solutions.

Demonstrates and builds experiences across multiple groups or divisions. Leads and coaches teams to develop problem statements and form hypotheses of feature(s)/feature areas (e.g., product, service) across divisional boundaries to address highly complex business, program, customer needs, and/or market opportunities.

Identifies dependencies of other features. Determines and leads process improvements to quickly scope insights; and drives change management initiatives. Uses industry understanding to direct teams to ensure alignment between the internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and the goals and strategy of Microsoft.

Holds teams accountable for collaborating with others (e.g., Engineering, Marketing, Design) to ensure that they can satisfy customer requirements. Facilitates collaboration between their team and other partner teams to bring about solutions.

In this role, the successful candidate will partner closely with engineering and operations leaders to drive programs focused on transforming how we deliver datacenters and refresh our network for the benefit of our customers. These programs will be on the leading edge of innovation and will require driving pilots and other experiments that shape ongoing planning and strategy to deliver datacenters efficiently and on schedule. This includes diving into existing Demand Signal to Datacenter hand power and facilities hand off activities for systemic issue investigation, improving process efficiencies, upgrading technology solutions, and working with multiple segment owners including technical teams to implement solutions at scale. You will partner and influence decision makers within the CO+I and partner teams’ leadership and execution teams, leveraging business intelligence, carrying out complex data analysis to root cause issues, identify, propose, and implement planning solutions to manage scope, schedule and budget of datacenter capacity delivery and network refresh projects. As the Global Data Center PM, you will engage with stakeholders to deliver high quality data in our planning and scheduling systems, influence engineering roadmap for enhancements, and partner with program managers to ensure network execution per plan.Embody our Culture (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/about/corporate-values) and Values (https://careers.microsoft.com/us/en/culture)QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.

OR equivalent experience.

2+ years experience leading cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

2+ years experience planning, managing and delivering global programs/products.

Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

6+ years experience managing multi-phase cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Detailed understanding of global datacenter network designs, operations, and engineering.

Professional PM certification, PMP, Prince2, PMI, ESI or equivalent

Experience in supply chain operations management.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
