The Game Developer Experience team within GEO is looking for a software engineer to own and advance developer tools in the Microsoft Game Development Kit (GDK).To push ever higher with great interactive content, today’s game studios need rich and flexible tools that give them full control over every stage of game development. You will help craft the developer tools that empower game creators to develop, build, measure and perfect amazing games for console, desktop, and cloud. Investigate, diagnose, and fix product issues in development & production
Provide high quality code review feedback for peers
Deliver high quality, testable & reliable code in a production setting
Contribute to an inclusive, creative, high-performance problem-solving team culture
Coach and mentor other engineers to continually raise the skills and culture of the team
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:5+ years professional coding experience in C# or C/C 2+ years of experience in scripting languages such as javascript, ReactJS, python, or similar languages
2+ years of experience in HTML, CSS, or other front-end language
Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated skills in design, debugging, and problem-solving
Motivated to learn and push the boundaries in challenging technical domains
Capable of working independently in a hybrid work environment
Proficient in English – both written and verbal communication skills
Experience with application user experience (UX) development and frameworks a plus, but not required
Experience with developing global-aware applications (globalization, localization)a plus, but not required
