We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team! Our mission is to deliver the best-in-class telemetry data services, enabling Microsoft to efficiently derive quality and business insights into consumer and enterprise products to increase customer trust and product quality, security & innovation.With more than a billion devices running Microsoft products, a huge amount of telemetry data is collected and processed. Our team owns and manages the services that are telemetry data processing and analytics foundation for measuring quality and usage of some of Microsoft’s biggest products. We collect, process, curate, and deliver data for consumption to various partner teams within Microsoft to drive their product quality and usage insights. Our services utilize Azure Big Data technologies. Our team provides big data platforms and tools that power data driven scenarios and analytics across Microsoft, covering a range of devices from Windows to Xbox gaming and our Consumer and Commercial Stores.We pride ourselves on a team culture of trust, openness, helping one another, customer focus, innovation, and transparency. You will work as an engineer on our data platforms.

Transform and manage massive amounts of data into usable and meaningful forms to enable data analytics by our partners.

Build and maintain infrastructure to ensure data handling meets all security, compliance and governance requirements.

Build service infrastructure with automation and reporting to manage the huge amounts of data we collect and process.

Provide developer, customer, and live site support to enable timely and correct consumption of data across our customers within Microsoft.

Actively participate in design and code reviews, sharing best practices in identifying and implementing solutions.

QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

OR equivalent experience.

Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, reliable Cloud-based services

Experience using data services

Experience with Big Data analytics concepts

Other Requirements:

Cloud Background check: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
