DescriptionThe AWS Email Marketing Team is looking for an exceptional Software Development Engineer to join our team. If so, then join us!The AWS Email Marketing Team is building its own world-class user personalization and campaign management platform that will drive the customer experience and the overall impact of communications delivered through the AWS email channel. The team provides AWS global marketing stakeholders with tools, governance, and the operations support to effectively deliver programs that drive AWS growth and adoption. This means you will have a direct impact on the success of AWS in attracting, nurturing, and delighting our customers.We are looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) who has delivered distributed systems on AWS infrastructure. You will be responsible for system design, development, code reviews, peer mentoring, release processes, and system monitoring. The Software Development Engineer partners with other engineers, product managers, and data science teams to develop new data-driven capabilities delivering process automation and performance optimization. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, with excellent attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and an ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Inclusive Team CultureHere at AWS, we embrace our differences. We offer flexibility in working hours and encourage you to find your own balance between your work and personal lives.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS· 3+ years of professional software development experience with at least one object oriented language such as Java, C, or C#· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS· 3+ years experience building and deploying distributed solutions on AWS infrastructure owning the system from design through production support· Experience with DynamoDB, MySQL, RedShift, and Data Lakes· Experience with Apache Kafka or Amazon Kinesis Streams· Experience in 3rd party system integrations· Experience with the tools of the trade, including a variety of programming languages (Java, C/C, C#, Python)· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this roleAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
