If this is you, come build the future with us.Key job responsibilitiesWe are looking for a passionate Software Development Engineer who will work with an outstanding development team to create high scale distributed services that expand the reach and functionality of Config. In this role, you will own solutions from design and execution through deployment and support, using the best of available tools, including EC2 Native, Lambda, DynamoDB, and ElasticSearch. You will be responsible for holding the code quality high, even as we optimize our development processes to better serve our customers, and will be expected to mentor and guide junior engineers. You should be invested in helping our enterprise customers enforce IT policies and best practices across their applications on AWS and beyond, understanding that it is important to pair infrastructure with the ability to properly manage it at scale. Most importantly, you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where delivery of new products and features is very rapid. AWS Config is one of the most critical requirements for large enterprises moving to AWS.A day in the lifeYou'll be writing code and reviewing other's code.

You'll design new systems or rearchitectures and produce highly scalable systems.

You'll identify operational improvements and help the team improve overall operations.

Partner with product team to gather customer requirements and write design documents.

1+ years of experience in software development

Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.

Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end software systems and all points in between.

Experience developing complex software systems that have successfully been delivered to customers.

Demonstrated ability to mentor junior software engineers or software developers in all aspects of their engineering duties.

Experience communicating with users, software development engineering teams, management to collect requirements, describe software product features and technical designs.

1 year of programming experience in Java / C (or equivalent OO language)

1 year experience building and operating scalable distributed systems
