If you enjoy solving challenging problems with unparalleled scale, this is the team for you!The CloudFront Client Acceleration team is looking to rapidly expand to focus on new initiatives to optimize the performance and availability of all users when connecting to edge locations. If you ever watch a stream and encounter buffering, or are downloading something slower than usual - there's a reason for that and most often our team is working on the problem. This includes building new solutions to automatically mitigate DDoS attacks and traffic flashcrowds in realtime, at traffic levels that would normally lead to major impact. We are also improving communication via new protocols and web servers, built with the primary objective to handle all communication efficiently and with high performance.The team faces hard challenges at scale to solve these problems, and we depend on high collaboration and innovation to work together to get there. This also means everyone on the team will embrace diving into new areas, such as probabilistic data structures, machine learning, and AI.Key job responsibilitiesWe:

5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C, or C# including object-oriented design

Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.
