Design and implement core system services, OS components, tools, and security features that empower our users to build powerful solutions on the Azure Sphere platform.

Design and implement solutions to distribute the developer tools and Azure Sphere OS components at scale.

Work across a broad range of areas of OS development, including libraries, frameworks, tools, and application models.

Collaborate with OSS projects to make the most of Azure Sphere’s powerful features.

Improve product quality through functional, performance, and stress testing strategies.

Collaborate with internal partners to deliver new functionality that spans multiple layers in the Azure Sphere stack.

Help the team follow best practices for software development, including learning about and applying modern security principles to the core product.

QualificationsRequired:2+ years of software design and development experience.

A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field OR 3 years of equivalent work experience.

Experience developing software using object-oriented languages like Python or C.

Preferred:Experience with the Yocto Project is a plus.

Experience developing for one or more embedded platforms.

1+ years of experience designing and developing features in any of the following areas: operating system kernels, firmware software, virtualization and hypervisors, and operating system building and distribution.

Experience developing for Linux.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
