Design and build scalable, high performance distributed software services and solutions. 

Ensure the platform adheres to Microsoft’s strict data privacy and compliance standards.

Adhere to and drive modern software engineering best practices through design & code reviews. 

System design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions. 

Develop “best-in-class” engineering for our services by ensuring that components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored and reusable. 

Consider testability, portability/monitoring, reliability, and maintainability from the initial phase of development.

Collaborate with partners and teams across Microsoft to build cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our customers. 

Identifying risks that could impact the delivery of the software and taking action to mitigate these risks.

Proactively identifying technical debt and other issues impacting the performance or reliability of the software and devising solutions.

Contribute to an inclusive environment and support & guide other engineers in the team as needed.

With guidance, learns to create and implement code (UX, Middle-Tier, Back-end) for a product, service, or feature reusing code where applicable.

Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.

Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.

Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale

QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred /Additional Qualifications :

Working with UX Design Tools such as FIGMA

Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language.

Experience developing, testing, deploying, andmaintaining online services on Azure, AWS or similar.

Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,400 - $151,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,300 - $165,400 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
