The mission of the Security Infrastructure team is to build platforms and software to enable our products and teams to provide the highest level of assurance to our customers. This role has wide-reaching impact, strong autonomy, and the resources and empowerment to make significant security improvements across all Palantir. The skills and background of successful candidates may vary highly, but curiosity, tenacity, and a drive to be an extraordinary security engineer are the underpinnings of our team.

As a Software Engineer on our Security Infrastructure team, you will be hands-on and have wide-ranging impact for the security of Palantir and its customers. You will be responsible for:

Data Engineering: You will develop the data and telemetry pipeline and backing cluster that collects and ingests terabytes of data per hour into a multi-petabyte data warehouse that powers our observability systems.

Counter-Abuse Technologies: You will develop technologies to refine the fraud and abuse defenses in our products.Core Responsibilities
  • Design and lead the end-to-end lifecycle of our data pipelines used to provide timely, complete, and accurate information for defenders.
  • Work closely with the DevOps team to maintain, operate, and evolve a highly performant, large-scale data warehouse.
  • Develop tools that ingest, enrich, transform, and analyze data in Palantir Foundry to provide meaningful security insights.
  • Expand and improve existing methods to aid in the detection and remediation of fraud and abuse on our platform.
What We Value
  • 5+ years development or software engineering experience and a deep passion for information security.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and a comfort working closely with engineering teams.
  • Experience with a modern high-level programming language (e.g. Java, Golang, Javascript, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with complex architectures and codebases (e.g. SOA or micro-services).
  • Experience with public cloud service providers (e.g. Amazon AWS, Google GCP, Microsoft Azure) and modern deployment technologies (e.g. CI/CD, Kubernetes, docker).
  • Experience with advanced Linux and container based security confinement methods (SELinux, Apparmor, etc.).
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance or willingness and eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
