Job Description:

  • As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for a variety of HR Communication delivery activities, creating content for and supporting HR initiatives and programs. This hands-on role will help connect employees to HR programs and initiatives through engaging content and storytelling, strategic planning and building engagement in company culture and HR offerings. This role supports all of the HR functional teams, and partners closely with the Corporate Communications team.
  • The role is based in Kent, WA, and will work partial remote and partial onsite and reports to the Director of HR Operations. Fully remote candidates will not be considered.

Responsibilities:
  • Supports the strategy and planning for Human Resources Communications which supports HR and company goals and business priorities.
  • Maintains and evolves HR editorial calendar with relevant, engaging content, leveraging HR and internal communications channels.
  • Creates content, manages internal communication channels and vehicles, creates communication plans which drive employee engagement and deliver on HR business goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring content is up to date and current across our internal HR Communication platforms and channels and keep information flowing to employees.
  • Partners with the Internal Communications team – in concert with External communications and Creative teams – to coordinate and execute on HR initiatives, ensuring change management, employee engagement, and clear communications.
  • Develops relationships with program and project managers, HR leaders, and functional points of contact to understand their project milestones and HR program objectives and provides expert advice on HR Communications and change management.
  • Provides creative, innovative, and positive solutions for complex content projects.
  • Owns the successful completion of major HR Communications projects and supports tracking and reporting of HR Communication metrics and results.
  • Distills complex concepts into clear messages for both technical and non-technical readers.
  • Develops relationship and works with teams across Blue Origin and Human Resources, including manufacturing and operational facilities across the U.S.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English or Human Resources or related field and 5+ years of relevant communications experience.
  • Experience in Internal and/or HR Communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • A highly organized self-starter capable of working independently across multiple workstreams, and as part of a team.
  • Content strategy and content development experience.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, dynamic work environment.
  • Proficient in the production and use of multimedia (graphics, videos, still photos).
  • Able to quickly grasp new ideas and tools.
  • Able to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information.
  • Impeccable judgment and creativity.
  • Passion for Blue Origin’s mission and vision.
  • Can easily adapt and is open to change in response to new information, feedback, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Must = or national, U.S. permanent resident (current holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:
  • Understands and can apply change management practices for maximum effectiveness.
  • Experience with a variety of communication mediums such as podcasts, video production, strategy, and event planning.
