About the Role The Specialist Technician, Validation Support Staff Technician will be responsible for providing direct support to the Validation Engineering Team by way of documented manual testing. The Specialist Technician, Validation Support Staff Technician must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while being mindful of scheduling deadlines and priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Hands-on manipulation of enterprise server hardware
    • Exposure to Failure Analysis
  • Detailed understanding of validation testing and test processes
  • Conduct manual validation testing in support of the Engineering Team:
    • Controlled testing of server hardware and firmware in a defined environment
    • Identify anomalies in test setup and execution
    • Execute basic troubleshooting of server hardware
    • Read, modify, and create basic automation scripts (Python/PowerShell)
    • Communicate status updates as well as escalate issues clearly and concisely from a technical perspective
  • Support qualification by troubleshooting hardware and software test failures, updating documentation, training new and junior test technicians
  • Administering soft tools (e.g.: diagnostics, tests, firmware updates)
  • Navigate Windows Server OS as well as Linux based OS
  • Work with engineers to develop and optimize test cases
  • Provide support for day-to-day test activities
  • Additional tasks deemed necessary to the continuity of business

Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field, Certificate of Completion of Technical School, or equivalent experience in a related discipline
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant server testing experience
  • Experience in both Hardware Testing and Information Technology
  • High Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of enterprise server components & systems
  • Ability to use custom Linux and Windows-based diagnostic programs
  • Ability to follow instructions in a team environment
  • Provide timely and detailed feedback to Engineering and Program Management Teams

  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary
  • The ability to safely climb ladders when necessary
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly when necessary

  • The ability to (i) use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, (ii) make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls, (iii) bend or twist their body and (iv) repeat movements for extended periods without loss or reduction of productivity

Minimum Qualifications
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability; use rigorous logic to solve problems
  • Ability to complete tasks on time
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting issues

Preferred Skills
  • Advanced Python/PowerShell Scripting experience
  • Experience with DRAM and Flash Storage testing
