DescriptionAmazon is looking for a Sr Business Intelligence Engineer to help build next generation metrics and drive business analytics for Selection. Our team owns models and systems that make selection decisions WW. As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for development of metrics for new products, new deep dive analytics tools as well as driving the strategy on data visualization for the group. You will own the development and support of key business metrics while continuing to raise the bar for creating scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large-scale data analysis.This is a high-visibility cross-functional role where you will work collaboratively with Engineers, Applied Scientists, Economists, PMTs, Directors and business partners across functions. As part of the growing and fast paced business program, you will have freedom to innovate and deliver impact on customer experience.This position requires excellent statistical and analytical abilities as well as deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions and data engineering practices. Write expert-level SQL that extracts actionable insights from some of the world’s largest datasets

Dive deep to help drive key business decisions through data insights and improve a wide range of internal products

Own the design and development of automated solutions for recurrent reporting and in-depth analyses including learning, publishing, and managing our operational business metrics decks

Drive continuous improvement of our analytical processes by automating, scaling, and simplifying self-service support for our customers

Invent new ways to explore our data and work with Product Managers to identify opportunities and transform business problems into defined data and reporting requirements

Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of SQL experience

5+ years of professional or military experience

Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

Experience with AWS technologies

Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market.
