This will be a hybrid position based out of the Banfield Pet Hospital headquarters in Vancouver, WA. Remote candidates who meet all requirements may be considered​.Salary Range: $118,796 - 163,344 (DOE)Summary and Qualifications: Provides expertise in maintaining the production instances at its optimal state, helps create test environment for development, monitors the production instances through system alerts and provides stewardship on best practices for sustainable development and securing database infrastructure both on-premises and on the cloud platform.Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.

Support development teams with technical and physical design, development, and maintenance of the Oracle Server databases including data analysis and modeling, programming, implementation, performance monitoring, tuning, cloning/refreshing, planning, problem resolution and data dictionary administration.

Install, upgrade, and patch database software, agents, utilities, and options.

Collaborate with development teams on use of standard practices for the design and implementation of databases to meet user application requirements.

Maintain test tools for managing Oracle objects and diagnosing problems.

Evaluate and test new versions of Oracle, Azure DBs like Synapse, Cosmos as well as third-party vendor utilities and reporting tools used to support Oracle.

Execute test and audit strategies for backup, security and disaster recovery of Databases and other systems.

Create and manage multiple environments.

On-call support for one week once every three weeks.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Strong project and time management skills with ability to multitask and prioritize workloads.

Demonstrated analytical capabilities; effectively identify and resolve problems in high-visibility and high-stress situations.

Other job duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions:

Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.

Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.

Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.

The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.

Environment where pets are present.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Seven years of experience with Oracle DBA and Azure DB (Synapse, CosmosDB) administration in a medium to large corporate environments are required.

Experience with one or more Unix/Linux server from various vendors (Oracle, HP, IBM, etc.) is required.

Experience with hardware installation requirements for mid-range system is required.

Experience with database performance monitoring and capacity planning is required.

Experience with OS functions and capabilities is required.

Familiarity with UNIX scheduling, archive/backup management, file transfer protocols and editors is required.

Experience working with Oracle to create support ticket for technical issues is required.

Experience working with Oracle Enterprise Manager is required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Ability to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data that is appropriate for intended audiences is required.

Oracle OCP level knowledge and certification is preferred.
