We are looking to hire a Sr. Program Manager - Data Quality and Efficiency Performance, whom will be responsible for designing, building, and operating Microsoft’s global datacenters; managing the programmatic delivery of our critical infrastructure design, equipment procurement, construction delivery, infrastructure innovation, demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all operations needed to run the physical infrastructure. We focus on smart growth with an emphasis on automation, data-driven engineering, cost‐effectiveness, and environmental sustainability. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's 200+ online businesses including Azure, Office 365, Bing, Xbox Live, Skype, and OneDrive.  Our portfolio is built and managed by a team of subject matter experts working 24x7x365 to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.Responsibilities

Develop methodologies and processes for managing and ensuring data quality of water and power related data within is maintained consistently with a high level of quality.

Develop measurement using data to measure performance of power, water, and other data related information within MS datacenters.

Working with engineering and operating groups identify opportunities to drive efficiency in power and water within MS datacenters.

Develop and lead projects to drive improved data models, quality, and power/water efficiency within datacenters.

Orchestrate the advanced troubleshooting and mitigation efforts of multiple engineering teams engaged in service restoration where data doesn’t achieve the appropriate level of quality.

Proactively communicate with Microsoft executive leadership, managers, engineering groups, and key stakeholders on datacenter power, water, and other sustainability related metrics.

Work with sustainability teams to identify, develop, and report out related datacenter information to maintain compliance with any regulatory or statutory requirements.

Identify opportunities and take ownership for automation and/or continuous improvement of data management processes and best practices.

Provide feedback and drive improvements with current tools and processes, driving initiatives to the appropriate group, for proactive design changes and implementation or business risk assessment for data management and compliance with statues and regulations.

Identify, explore, and then ultimately drive cross-team efforts to proactively resolve issues that could impact to our customers.

QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

2+ years experience working directly with critical environments systems such as power and/or cooling.

Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos)

4+ years of experience with datacenter operations or engineering and design

OR equivalent experience.

Proven written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively using sound business judgment.

Demonstrated quantitative skills to resolve ambiguous problems and driving to root cause.

Demonstrated ability to set priorities, pursue multiple threads at the same time, accurately reflect the current state and drive towards desired state.

Proven collaboration skills: working across teams and organizations is necessary to be successful.

Experience in data quality or data management best practice.

Experience in telemetry, instrumentation, or building automation systems.

Experience in data science and/or management.

Working knowledge and understanding of data center systems such as Power, Cooling, and networking is a plus.

ITIL Foundations certification.

PMP Certification preferred, Excellent project/program management skills with great attention to detail.

Demonstrated technical excellence by applying engineering principles to solve complex problems.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Power BI.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
