DescriptionAWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.We’re building an entirely new retail experience with no lines and no checkout. Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When a customer is done shopping, they just walk out! Shortly after, their credit card is charged for their purchases and a receipt is sent.In addition to Just Walk Out technology, we are creating a variety of other exciting customer experiences through inventions like Amazon One and Amazon Dash Cart. The candidate will be at ease dealing with ambiguity, have strong attention to detail, be motivated by a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, and be comfortable thinking big and diving deep. Driving standardization of process and the creation of documentation is a major component of the role. The ability to utilize judgement and domain knowledge to anticipate issues before they block launch, as well as the ability to influence and drive change through a matrix organization without direct authority, is critical to achieve business objectives. Sr. PM’s deliver high impact reviews to the entire organization through timely retrospective meetings with stakeholders.A successful candidate will be able to drive a strategic vision, play an integral role in determining strategy, resources, features, schedules, and process for cross-company projects. They operate with significant autonomy, and demonstrate creativity and judgement when confronted with complex issues. This leader must have strong written and verbal communications skills, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to influence others and dive deep, and a passion for technology. The scope of work will have a large and measurable impact on Amazon Physical Retail.Key job responsibilitiesKey job responsibilities· Own reporting on the state of initiatives, measuring improvements and impact of changes.· Utilize metrics to deep-dive into issues and uncover business-driving trends and patterns.· Set-up mechanisms to audit and perform necessary course corrections where needed to meet business objectives. Develop best practices, scalable mechanisms and repeatable processes. Program tracking and common project management principles (agile development and project management methods, e.g. SCRUM); mapping complex combinations of resources against objectives, track dependencies and risk, assess impact of change across interdependent workstreams and projects Experience working with global teams Collaborate with internal stakeholders and develop programs to enable the partners Tracking strategic metrics with the partners and provide visibility to the senior leadership team on a regular basis Lead and improve program operational & reporting procedures (activities, goals, funding, budgeting, etc.) Participate in workshops, design sessions and other program management activates to drive program adoption Organize workshops and facilitate the sharing of knowledge across OTSAbout the teamDiverse ExperiencesAmazon values diverse experiences. 5+ years of program or project management experience

Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of driving process improvements experience

Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
