Job summaryProject Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.Come solve the difficult and rewarding electrical engineering challenges in developing a highly reliable, power efficient, performant, low cost satellite bus and payload. Key job responsibilitiesAs a Senior Signal/Power Integrity Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and developing Signal and Power Integrity test methodologies, participating in design reviews, performing measurements and simulations, providing reports, collaborating with other engineers to develop solutions, and working to ensure a high technical bar across Kuiper.Export Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.A day in the lifeEngineers on the Signal/Power Integrity (SI/PI) team work across the entire Kuiper satellite system, providing design inputs, developing requirements, establishing best practices, performing signal/power integrity system analysis, and working with designers to make design improvements.About the teamThe SI/PI team interacts broadly across the entire Kuiper project to deliver electrical designs. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. Along the way, we guarantee that you will learn a lot, have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.Internal job description BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in hardware development
- 5+ years of hands on experience in simulations and lab validation for Signal/Power Integrity
- Experience in system implementation and validation for various industry standards such as Ethernet, OIF, JEDEC, PCIe etc.
- Experience using simulation tools such as ANSYS, CST, Hspice, ADS, Hyperlynx, etc.
- Experience using Network Analyzers, oscilloscopes and probing techniques.
- Experience participating in schematic and design reviews.
- Master's or PhD Degrees in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated design innovation in complex board design
- Solid understanding of electromagnetic & transmission line theory
- Solid understanding of numerical methods such as FEM, MoM, FDTD etc.
- Experience as a technical lead for small teams of Signal/Power Integrity and/or PCB design engineers
- Experience in silicon (on-chip) and package power delivery network principles
- Experience using Apache Redhawk and/or Voltus IR/DvD tool set
- Experience with development of electronics for low earth orbit spacecraft
