Software Engineers are at the heart of that innovation and magic, building platforms, services, tools and infrastructure for an unmatched collection of content and brands such as Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, and ABC.As a Senior Software Engineer for the Consumer Software Engineering, Solutions Architecture team, you will help us innovate and build the future of streaming for millions of viewers! You’ll work alongside a team of other solutions architects and partner with product managers, client developers, and backend engineers to help design, implement, and efficiently deliver new initiatives across our portfolio of streaming applications, including Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu.Responsibilities:

Partner with teams across engineering, product, design, and marketing to help refine product requirements for new features across our commerce, engagement, and playback domains.

Assess the technical feasibility of new features and identify possible solutions for their implementation, reviewing these solutions and building consensus with our partner teams to begin execution.

Collaborate closely with engineers across client and service teams to facilitate the implementation of these features, with an eye toward platform consistency and scalability.

Infrequently but occasionally help support significant releases during non-standard business hours.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of 5+ years of experience building highly scalable and performant client applications.

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience collaborating with team members across a variety of domains. Our work requires us to build trust and rally the support of our peers to influence and effect technical change!

Demonstrated curiosity in researching and learning new tools and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with backend development, including GraphQL and/or REST APIs.

Familiarity with Git for source control.

Experience reading specifications written in OpenAPI.

Experience with technical writing and maintaining user documentation and technical specifications.

Experience mentoring junior team members and the ability to deliver encouraging and constructive feedback.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Region 1 - $129,560 - $173,800 Region 2 - $136,100 - $182,400 Region 3 (NYC/Seattle) - $142,516- $191,180 Region 4 (SF) - $148,994 - $199,870 The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
