Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. This role is central to our operations in the non-profit sector, where you will be responsible for grant billing, data reconciliation, and maintaining accurate financial records. This is a contract employment opportunity that offers a rich experience in a dynamic work environment.Responsibilities: Assist in the processing and management of grant billing to ensure timely and accurate completion. Prepare summaries for grantors detailing the utilization of funds. Dispatch grants to other organizations in accordance with established guidelines. Conduct reconciliations to verify how funds have been expended and report back to grantors using specified templates. Proactively liaise with the grant accountant to ensure smooth operations. Demonstrate problem-solving skills by accurately interpreting and processing complex information. Utilize Excel Formulas, QuickBooks, and other accounting skills to efficiently manage tasks. Ensure all accounts payable, bank reconciliations, general ledger tasks, and journal entries are completed accurately and on time.Requirements Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) processes. Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations. Familiarity with General Ledger management. Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries. Capability to manage Month End Close processes. Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting operations. Experience in Grant Accounting procedures. Proficiency in using Excel Formulas for financial calculations. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations. Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
