Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant / Bookkeeping Expert to join our team. This role is responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting for a portfolio of clients across various industries. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing client communications and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records for multiple business clients
Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Creating and maintaining workpapers for sales reconciliations, debt schedules + trial balance worksheets
Post monthly standard journal entries
Prepare Adjusting journal entries with workpapers in support
Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements
Process payroll and ensure timely filing of payroll and state tax returns
Support clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
Respond to client inquiries and explain financial concepts in a clear, approachable way
Work independently while collaborating with the team as needed
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in bookkeeping and small business accounting
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online
Public accounting experience preferred, but not required
Understanding of payroll processing, B&O tax filings, and general compliance
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently
