Software Supplier Quality Specialist to ensure quality associated with external suppliers of software and embedded systems. In this role, you will manage and monitor supplier readiness and maintain supplier quality and compliance in accordance with company standards.

What’s exciting about this role:This is a unique opportunity to step into the high demand world of supplier quality. You’ll learn how to manage, monitor and respond to changes in the supplier’s ability to fill orders and meet agreed upon quality standards. You’ll work with internal teams to select, monitor and manage external suppliers, monitor metrics and supplier score cards, and work with suppliers to collect and review quality standards

What you get to do:
  • Participate in supplier readiness reviews to select new embedded systems suppliers
  • Collaborate with engineering, purchasing and suppliers to meet company software quality requirements
  • Present and promote industry software requirements to Sr. Management and supplier leadership
  • Consult with engineering and validation organizations to assure software readiness for manufacturing or launch
  • Participate in design reviews and product readiness reviews
  • Monitor supplier activities and escalate when risk factors to quality are detected
  • Evaluate and approve supplier submissions for PPAP and approve software products for launch
  • Participate in continued improvement of the Software Quality Assurance process
  • Support production with root cause analysis and problem solving for software related issues
  • Collaborate with international organizations to develop a global standard for software quality
  • Lead activities for Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) on behalf of software quality

What you’ll need to be successful:
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience or knowledge of embedded systems development or related field
  • Knowledge of software and electronic development processes
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the field of supplier quality
  • Basic knowledge of V-Model and product life cycle principles
  • Strong communications and negotiation skills
  • Desire to become an ASPICE assessor to evaluate and develop supplier capabilities
  • Ability to operate independently and make decisions in ambiguous situations
  • Experience with industry tools for requirements management, test management, and configuration management
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% during peak projects

Extra points for:
  • Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN)
  • Six Sigma Black or Green belt certification
  • Experience with Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Background in an automotive environment
  • Professional certification from ASQ in CSQE
  • ASPICE certified Provisional or Competent assessor
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with, negotiating, or leading suppliers
  • Masters degree in business or engineering related field
  • Language proficiency in either Spanish, Dutch, Mandarin, or Portuguese
