Registering patients on their day of surgery, communicating surgery check in times for next day patients, and acting as a liaison between support people and the prep/recovery teams

Facilitates and coordinates the daily activities of the section to ensure that each patient feels respected, welcome and comfortable

Supports reimbursement for VMMC through the collection and verification of demographic and insurance information from new and established patients

Obtaining and documenting organizational and federally mandated patient signatures; initiating and updating the patient registration systems as needed; and creating medical records for use in patient care

Assists providers in administering health care through telephone answering, appointment scheduling, rooming patients, managing and communicating daily schedules, ensuring revenue capture is complete/timely, and communicating test results and patient concerns in an efficient and timely manner

High school diploma or GED required.

Requires a minimum of one year experience in a health care setting, related education or equivalency and demonstrated customer service and/or patient care skills.

Demonstrated organization, interpersonal communication and basic computer skills.

Must demonstrate problem-solving and prioritization skills in order to manage multiple tasks successfully throughout the day.

Prefer proficiency in VM computer systems (scheduling, electronic mail, computer operating systems, office software, electronic medical records).

Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and third-party payor requirements.

Demonstrated basic clinical skills and telephone skills preferred.
