Description Robert Half is seeking a Treasury Accountant to join our client based in Vancouver, Washington. In this role, you will be tasked with monitoring and reporting accounting activity for multiple locations, and ensuring the accuracy of sales and use tax collections. This role also requires the ability to independently analyze and understand assigned GL Accounts. This offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Independently monitor, record, and report accounting activity for multiple locations Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations, including cash, inventory, prepaids, liability accruals, debt and intercompany accounts Handle the monthly close functions and generate recurring and non-recurring journal entries Oversee accuracy and completeness of sales and use tax collections, filings, and payments independently Perform research on each state's requirements, file appropriately, and communicate findings to all stakeholders Investigate and resolve all variances between the collection of sales tax and remittance of taxes Analyze and understand assigned GL Accounts with a focus on period-to-period comparisons and actual to budget comparisons Act as the lead/liaison during Sales & Use Tax Audits and Annual Financial Statement Audits conducted by a third-party firm Provide support during acquisitions and handle ad hoc projects per management instruction Utilize skills in Bank Statements, Reconcile Bank Statements, Fixed Assets, Microsoft Excel, and NetSuite to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Requirements Applicant must have a strong understanding of bank statements, including the ability to reconcile them accurately. Proficiency in handling fixed assets is required. Candidate should be skilled in using Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis. Experience with NetSuite software is necessary. The role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Candidate should be able to work effectively as part of a team. A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required. Relevant work experience in a retail food store setting will be advantageous. detail oriented certification such as CPA is desired but not necessary. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions. Knowledge of financial regulations and standards in the retail industry is preferred. Applicant should be capable of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information responsibly. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
