Vice President, Global Communications

Job Description

The VP, Global Communications will advance the company’s strategic business objectives and long-term goals by leading marketing, media and analyst relations, and internal communications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, senior-level professional with exceptional solutions-oriented capabilities and familiarity with the cyber security industry.

The VP will manage the development of integrated marketing and communications strategies for FireEye and oversee their execution, in cooperation with product marketing and other functional areas of the company. They should be seasoned in delivering strategic counsel to executive management, helping the organization maintain and amplify its reputation among key stakeholders. This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

• Set the strategic direction of external and internal communications, including collaborating with senior management to secure alignment and engagement on executive visibility initiatives to amplify the company’s objectives.
• Serve as a communications counselor and strategist to stakeholders across the company.
• Provide strategic day-to-day counsel including, but not limited to, innovation security, market thought leadership, and core solutions.
• Experience in hiring, managing, and directing global strategic communications and AR agencies to extend impact and reach.
• Lead the identification, development, and implementation of company pitches, announcements, press tours, customer testimonials, and events.
• Develop and maintain strong, external relationships, resulting in beneficial coverage for the company.
• Develop, implement, and manage strategic corporate communications programs.
• Build and maintain a strong network of business partners across all levels of the global organization.
• Engage with senior executives to promote industry-leading initiatives and increase awareness for the company through executive visibility programs.
• Implement and manage communications technology solutions.
• Manage and develop a roster of corporate spokespeople.
• Communicate results and lever metrics to influence stakeholders, customers, and employees.
• Develop program metrics to measure progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; minimum of 10 years marketing and communications experience – cyber security marketing communications experience highly preferred.
• Must have experience running successful solutions-oriented marketing programs – background in SaaS highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of changing media landscape.
• Corporate communications experience building and managing external and internal programs that deliver measurable results.
• Investor Relations experience.
• Experience working with industry analysts.
• Experience coaching senior executives.
• Understanding of how to use data and research to drive results.
• Experience working in an integrated marketing and communications function.
• Previous experience overseeing communications for major product and service launches.
• Strong knowledge in technology and security industries.
• Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively, and take initiative.
• Self-starter approach to work and a strong problem solver.
• Stellar writing and editing skills, PowerPoint plan development, news releases, talking points, executive briefing documents.
• Excellent persuasive written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to draft written material such as press releases and thought leadership contributed pieces.
• Strong understanding of PR tools, especially in the digital and social media realm.
• Ability to work remotely with limited supervision.

Provides network visibility and protection against the world’s most sophisticated and damaging cyber-attacks.
