As our Accounting Analyst at our Marietta facility, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting and finance assignments as a finance partner with both the plant site management team and with the Corporate Finance team to meet manufacturing operations and financial objectives. Additionally, you must adhere to our guiding principles of integrity, commitment, and excellence.

What you'll be doing:
  • Completes month-end closing responsibilities including reporting and analyzing variances to budget and forecast for the plant management team
  • Completes accounting analysis and reconciliation, as required
  • Prepares plant reports on production and key performance indicators
  • Assists with the development of monthly forecasts based on production drivers and key performance metrics at the facility
  • Supports the weekly estimate process through analyzing metrics & developing projections of on-going performance
  • Completes inventory control and reconciliation, including reviewing or auditing the adherence to monthly and annual cycle count procedures and assisting with the annual physical inventory, and leading the plant GIP team. Fixed asset control and reconciliation, including assistance with fixed asset physical inventory counts every two years
  • Prepares economic cost studies for projects concerning new or existing products, manufacturing processes, equipment, or facilities
  • Responsible for the cost book for major plant projects ensuring appropriate policies associated with capital and expense are adhered to and is in compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Supports a Lean culture by participating in Gemba walks, Kaizen events, and value stream mapping sessions
  • Assists with the annual review and audit of internal control procedures to sustain SOX compliance and to manage and minimize financial risk at the facility
  • Assists with developing the annual plant budget including creating standards and updating the standards and period expense budgets in SAP
  • Supports the plant in generating and quantifying cost savings opportunities and supports the plant management team with the implementation of cost reduction initiatives
  • Completes manufacturing operations financial analysis, including ad hoc studies for Senior Management & evaluation of requests for capital expenditures & Lean cost reduction projects

Requirements that will make you successful:
  • BS / BA in Finance or Accounting
  • 1+ years of experience in an accounting/finance role
  • Demonstrated ability to link and analyze plant operational metrics to financial performance
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills including the ability to interact comfortably and respectfully with all levels of plant and corporate personnel
  • Customer focused with strong attention to detail & capable of delivering accurate, quality results in a timely, consistent & professional manner
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills

Located 15 miles from the corporate headquarters in Lancaster, PA, Marietta has over 300 employees and is one of eleven Armstrong plants in North America.
