Veilant is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations in support of System High, a wholly owned subsidiary of Veilant, and help strengthen the financial infrastructure supporting the organization’s continued growth in the government contracting market.Reporting directly to the SVP of Finance, the Controller will serve as the senior accounting leader responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, general ledger, cost accounting, internal controls, and government contracting compliance for the System High business.This is a hands-on leadership role for an accomplished accounting professional who understands the complexities of operating in a federal contracting environment. The successful candidate will combine deep technical accounting expertise with strong operational judgment and the ability to translate financial information into clear, actionable insights for Veilant and System High leadership.What Success Looks Like in the First Six MonthsThe Controller will be expected to:Strengthen the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and close environments. Assess current accounting processes and internal controls  to establish a disciplined, timely month-end close and financial reporting process with strong reconciliations, documentation, and accountability.Lead GovCon compliance and audit readiness. Evaluate System High’s accounting practices for alignment with GAAP and government contracting requirements, including DCAA expectations, cost accounting, indirect cost allocation, timekeeping, billing, and supporting documentation.Optimize Costpoint and financial reporting. Assess how Deltek Costpoint is being used across the accounting function and improve the quality, consistency, and timeliness of financial information provided to the SVP of Finance and executive leadership.What You’ll OwnAs Controller, you will lead the day-to-day accounting function supporting System High while establishing the processes, controls, and discipline necessary to support growth.Lead all core accounting activities, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.Ensure financial statements and accounting practices are maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Maintain appropriate indirect cost pools, allocation methodologies, and supporting schedules.Support development and monitoring of provisional billing rates and indirect rates.Maintain accounting practices and documentation that support DCAA audit readiness and compliance.Oversee accounting processes related to government contracts, including labor, timekeeping, billing, cost allowability, and supporting documentation.Lead preparation for DCAA, external financial, and other applicable audits.Establish, document, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies.Drive an accurate, efficient, and predictable monthly and annual financial close.Ensure the integrity and effective use of Deltek Costpoint and cost accounting across the business.Produce timely and accurate financial reporting for the SVP of Finance, System High leadership, and Veilant executive leadership.Partner with executive and cross-function leaders to improve accounting processes, systems, automation, reporting, and scalability in support of growthLead, develop, empower, and and continue to mentor members of the accounting organization.Support the SVP of Finance on strategic financial initiatives fomenting growth.
