Past intern projects have included updating drawings, creating and giving training on new systems to plant operators, programming and implementing power output (load) forecasting spreadsheets and tools, collecting vibration data, analyzing operating data and providing improvement recommendations, generating document repository databases, providing rotating equipment balancing recommendations, and indirectly supervising contract labor.The engineering intern will report to the Site Manager, work closely with the Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Instrument/Controls Tech departments, and afforded opportunities to interact with in-house operators and external maintenance contractors. Tasks assigned will be a mix of those aligned with the student's background (electrical, mechanical, environmental, etc) as well as stretch projects that are needs for the power station in other engineering disciplines. Good oral and written communication skills
Analytical and troubleshooting skills to gather, review and interpret data, and provide recommendations. Mentoring, oversight, and assistance will be readily available to the Intern.
Skilled in the use of a personal computer including the Microsoft Office platform or equivalent.
