Job Description

The role of National Continuous Improvement Manager within the Intermodal & Specialised (“I&S”) business, joins at a pivotal point inatransformational journey which is now poised to be one great success story. Led by the General Manager of the I&S business, you will come on board to drive key strategic initiatives that will deliver the next phase of development, growth and profit.

Whilst the strategic framework is set, there is still work to be done in the detail and this position will be front and centre in designing and executing the future plan, nailing down new processes, engaging with customers and building internal stakeholder relationships at a high level.

This position is responsible for:

  • Identifying & driving cost initiatives across Interstate and Wharf Services businesses
  • Developing bespoke customer solutions and furthering our competitive advantage by leveraging Global Express’ market leading network and scale
  • Further entrench Intermodal’s relationship with key strategic customers and grow the share of wallet
  • Conducting post implementation reviews and knowledge-sharing with the wider business to implement best practices nationally
  • Working collaboratively with the National CI team to ensure operational objectives align with broader Global Express strategy.
  • Providing detailed labour analysis and recommendations/insights to drive cost control measures.
  • Improvingthe utilisation of equipment.
  • Collaborating with I&S Pricing and Analytics teams to ensure appropriate consideration is given to equipment costs and network balance.
  • Managing targeted programs to ensure timely selection and de-hire of assets.
  • Presenting to customers and suppliers on mutually beneficial initiatives,
  • Supporting Global Express with the conversion of road freight onto Intermodal’s rail network.
  • Working collaboratively and cross functionallyto identify synergies, cost reduction opportunities and overall performance enhancement.
  • Driving operational improvement with a focus on cost optimisation.

Successful applicants will beable to articulate their success in implementing continuous improvement interventions in a business "turn around" scenario. Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in accounting/commerce/business or similar
  • Qualified CA/CPA/Equivalent preferred
