AECOM is seeking a Ports & Marine Project Engineer to be based in Virginia Beach, VA area. You will be joining a global team of 500+ maritime specialists who support a wide range of maritime developments including container terminals, LNG facilities, waterfront developments, federal maritime facilities, cruise and ferry terminals, marinas and harbors as well as coastal schemes such as beach development and coastal protection schemes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Under the supervision of Senior Project Engineers, be part of teams responsible for the design of small-to-large-scale Ports & Marine projectsConduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineerCreate designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineerCollect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineerPerform specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineerUse computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problemsPerform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervisionIdentify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and make recommendationsDemonstrate good presentation and communication skills in English, including report and proposal writing skillsProvide guidance to entry level engineersAssist in the preparation of technical specifications and contract documents for maritime projectsParticipate in site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess existing conditionsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated design solutionsContribute to the development of cost estimates and project schedulesStay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in maritime engineering
