Press Operator

We are seeking people with printing experience; however printing experience is not mandatory! We are willing to train the right people for the job!Respirator test is required prior to start, men must be clean shaven. This position does not require the wearing of the respirator but the test is requiredJob description:

Activates the auto splice button at the back of the press when the roll is rewound to the correct size.

Wraps a finished roll (566 lbs. to 2,100 lbs.) by applying edge protectors ( full box – 110 lbs. / single roll – 21 lbs.), wrapping the roll in stretch wrap, and lowering it from the press.

Removes a lead paper roll (600 lbs. to 2,100 lbs.) by filling out a travel card correctly, taping it on the roll, and lowering the roll from the press to the floor.

The roll is pushed onto the conveyer and sent down to the material handler.

Make sure that all containers are properly labeled with the HMIS label, Flammable label, and an Identification label telling what is in it. This includes drums and buckets. Each identification label is also color coded for each solvent and ink.

Hit buckets are to be monitored for ink build up. The buckets must be cleaned of all dried ink whenever possible.
