Solidus is searching for a Software Engineer for a 5 month assignment that has a high probability of extension to support a critical DoD project. This is a 100% remote, fully-benefited position. All applicants must be able to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Candidate will support the development and all testing aspects for fielding, sustaining, and modernizing an Air Force application focused on reporting, planning, force generation, emergency management, and command and control monitoring and execution. The individual will develop test objectives and test requirement allocation and develop and document detailed test procedures. Engineer will be expected to mentor operations specialists through planned test events i.e., moving from one cloud environment to another. They may lead the integration of several other capabilities in preparation for execution of an exercise event with end users.

Requirements - ship and Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance - Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or related discipline - 2 years minimum professional experience; or Masters or PhD degree in lieu of experience

Required Experience - Knowledge of agile software development practices - Knowledge of manual and automated test practices - Proficiency in Ruby/Cucumber, functional testing, regression testing, integration testing and understanding of test-driven development - Experience in DoD, military test and evaluation environments, and agile testing tools/requirements is desired - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Demonstrates strong work ethic, works well within a team environment

Responsibilities - Leading the testing of regular and emergency releases (in support of the task order's fielding effort) - Helping to maintain the software currency and quality through review of pull requests and testing, and to resolve bug tickets in a timely manner, of the system regardless of its deployed (unclassified) environment - Supporting the development and maintenance of a Configuration Management Plan - Supporting the software development and development of manual and automated testing best practices over the life of the system - Supporting collaborative test planning, integration, test execution, test result analysis, and final test reporting.
