Our client, a leading national provider of corporate legal services, is currently seeking candidates for a full-time Systems Engineer role. This individual will be important part of a team charged with maximizing the reliability and uptime of IT systems, as well as defending against security threats and loss of data. Our ideal person will be comfortable working hands-on with Windows Servers and have a solid understanding of virtualization, system performance, security, back-ups, and troubleshooting.This will be a 100% remote position through 2021, with the eventual plan to be a hybrid arrangement between remote work and their offices 1 hour Southwest of downtown Pittsburgh. - Perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Integrate servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems.
- Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, and other applications.
- Maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, processes, and service records.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests for systems.
- Monitor and test system performance
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, storage, applications and peripheral devices.
- Manage physical and virtual servers and their associated operating systems, patches and software.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system builds.
- Maintain server inventory.
- Work with other Network and Systems Engineers to execute modifications to server environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Two plus years' experience in the areas of System Engineering and System/Server/Storage Administration (servers, SANs, virtualization, AD, Exchange)
- Proficiency with Windows Server operating systems and utilities
- Knowledge of virtualization including VMWare.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
- Knowledge of current versions of Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online.
- General proficiency with Windows desktop OS and MS Office suite of products
- Skills with Dell and Cisco servers and storage.
- Skill managing enterprise SANs particularly EMC.
- Knowledge of server monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related discipline
- Knowledge of M365 and Microsoft Azure
- Skill with Web Servers (IIS) and FTP servers
- Some experience with UNIX/Linux
