Job Description

The Opportunity:The AssociateBrand MarketingManager position will start out in a remote capacity and will transition to be on-site at our Middleton, WI campus in early 2022. The ABM is responsible for supporting the Brand Marketing with business analysis, daily management, and marketing/merchandising of core product lines. The position is critical in driving recommendations for business planning, monitoring, and execution. It is important that the individual have business planning experience, strong project management skills, and the ability to manage details while juggling priorities of a fast-paced business.

What Your Impact Will Be:

BUSINESS ANALYSIS: Data analysis and high-level forecasting for setting long term revenue targets. Summarizes business findings to support year-end reports. Reports on key initiative performance. Contributes to company-wide and senior management presentations. Utilizes financial reporting tools such as the Line Planning Tool coupled with analytical skills to independently develop business assessments. Recaps key findings and provide recommendations for line management, slot development, and future business strategies

LINE MANAGEMENT: Supports Sub-brand lead in day to day business management. Active participant in product to market process including assessing margin targets, developing and managing line plans from initiation to completion. Works closely with promotions and excess inventory managers on planning/timing for product retirements. Maintains key product line management tools, including NCR and Line Plan documents. Active participant in IPR. Drives recommendation and communication for SKU rotation and retirement by channel to maximize margin and revenue opportunities. Supports internal and external partners in execution of initiatives.

MARKETING/MERCHANDISING: Drives the recommendation for cross channel prioritization of merchandising. Works with channel partners on catalog page grid planning, layouts, and copy review. Recommends product for promotional opportunities. Support and participate in marketing initiative teams as applicable. Assess impact of individual SKUs on overall business by identifying and prioritizing key drivers, revenue projections, and merchandising vignettes. Ensure consistent product presentation across channels while also maintaining appropriate brand aesthetics

SPECIAL PROJECTS: Assist in supporting special projects such as innovation, SKU productivity, and distribution strategies as needed. Develop assortments against objectives, complete analysis to support opportunity size. Drives new business opportunity and growth.

BRAND TEAM SUPPORT: Coordination across all sub-brands and brand team to publish and update quarterly price list across broader organization.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

2-3 years of marketing experience in a retail or consumer driven company. Sound financial and analytical skills.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Strong business planning experience, people management and strategic thought leadership with a high capacity for managing complexity in markets, cultures, brand portfolio assets, consumer targets, and go to market models. Ability to deal with complexity given the multi-channel and multi-segment nature of business. General business management experience/expertise, affinity to drive for results, multi-tasking, team leadership, creative problem-solving, analytical and financial management skills needed to operate continuously. Proven experience with addressing developing and evolving strategies to answer consumer needs, varying channels of distribution, and markets new to American Girl. Proven track record working on domestic premium and/or market leading brands. Strong thought leadership, business planning, and cross-functional team leadership with a high capacity for managing complexity in omni-channel model and providing change leadership. Effective and influential in working through a highly matrixed structure to deliver the end solution; flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. Able to lead multiple areas simultaneously and collaborate with all types of people, e.g., creative, strategic, analytical, execution/detailed oriented. Must also be able to clearly communicate with all levels within the organization and to influence, persuade and sell direction for marketing.
